Omega Reads Program
To battle the Assault on Illiteracy, Brothers of NLL take time to read to public school children at PS 17 in Jersey City. Brothers stress the importance of reading and educational development. The Omega Reads Program is an opportunity for young students to interact with accomplished men of color through reading.
Salvation Army Soup Kitchen
The Brothers have partnered with the Salvation Army Center in Jersey City to provide service during the Holiday season. Every year on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving members of Nu Lambda Lambda volunteer their services in serving homeless and near homeless individuals.
New Jersey Cares
MLK Service Day - On Martin Luther King Jr Holiday, members of the Nu Lambda Lambda Chapter participates in the MLK Day of Service hosted by New Jersey Cares. On this day we partner with The Jersey Cares service project team to revitalize Public Schools in Jersey City, NJ.
Dr. Charles R. Drew Blood Drive
Blood Drive – Every year the Brothers of NLL donate not only their sweat but their blood to the Blood Center of New Jersey located in West Orange, NJ.
March 12th of each year chapters conduct an appropriate service to recall the memory of those members who have entered into Omega Chapter.
Voter Registration, Education, & Mobilization
Brothers of Nu Lambda Lambda (NLL) initiated a Voter Registration Drive that commenced in September 2008 and concluded in October 2008. The locations included the Independent Beauty Supply at Extra Supermarket and Mount Pisgah AME Church, Jersey City, NJ during Family and Friend’s Sunday. The men of NLL registered approximately 150 people. On November 4, 2008, Brothers of NLL also assisted during the Presidential Election at a local county registrar satellite office located in the Junction section of Jersey City, NJ. Members assisted by driving residents to polling locations, assisting a home bound resident to a voting poll, and distributing flyers to remind Jersey City residents to vote.

William 'Count' Basie Jazz Brunch
On April 26, 2009, members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, Nu Lambda Lambda (NLL) Chapter and the NLL Uplift Corporation hosted the first annual William “Count” Basie Jazz Brunch at the Culinary Arts Center at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City, NJ. The purpose of this event is to recognize notable members of Jersey City who have unselfishly given of themselves to improve the community which they serve. This event is also organized to raise money toward scholarships for worthy Jersey City high school students seeking college attendance.
National Essay Contest
As this falls under our Achievement Week Progam, we have incorporated this into our Black History Month Program in which 3 winners are selected and each receives Barnes & Noble gift cards.y School, Jersey City, NJ. The play was titled “We Can Fly”. Members of NLL also presented four awards for an essay contest sponsored by the Chapter. The students were asked to write a persuasive essay on Black History wax museum.
